CBRN COE Project 53: Training carried out in the National Centre for Zoonotic Diseases NCZD, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
The training ‘Principles, Practices & Interpretation of Molecular Diagnosis of EDPs’, took place at the National Centre for Zoonotic Disease (NCZD), in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia between September 26th and 28th 2018.
The ISTC and STCU, jointly with the Institute of Earth Sciences/National Seismic Monitoring Center of the Illia University, hosted a kickoff meeting of the new project, “Seismic Network Expansion in the Caucasus and Central Asia.”

Pretoria/Astana, August 2018. Less than a year after establishing formal ways of cooperation with South Africa’s National Nuclear Regulator (NNR), ISTC discussed with key national counterparts in Pretoria the prospects for new collaborative initiatives.
Representatives of ISTC and the University of Pretoria met in the beginning of August to share information about on-going forms of collaboration in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and to exchange views on future cooperation.

Dr Jean Pascal Zanders, an internationally renowned expert on armament and disarmament, covering chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons, talked at the KAZGUU in Astana about the role of academia in spreading the culture on non-proliferation.
On 21 May 2018, member of the ISTC Secretariat Kamen Velichkov, Senior Programme Manager and Diplomatic Advisor, and Kalamkas Shampiyeva, Project Proposal/Project Agreement Officer, held a working meeting at the ISTC Main Office with Mr. Krister Liljegren, Area Manager, Environics Oy, Finland, a European company specialized in radiation detection equipment.
